After seeing the previews on TV for what seemed like forever, we circled July 15 on our calendar and decided to check out what Pooh Bear was all about. It was to be S’s first ever trip to a real movie theater, so she was pumped. She even brought along her stuffed pooh bear and tigger. M wanted to come, too, so we donned him in his Pooh Bear onesie courtesy of Grandma C. When we were all properly poohed (well, except for J and I. Can’t say I have many winnie the pooh clothes), we set off for the theater. There was a line getting in for the matinee, but that was thanks to a very popular Harry Potter showing. Those viewing the Pooh movie were of the smaller sort. We stopped for some concessions and S spied some pink cotton candy. Who could deny her that on her first ever movie theater experience?? When we had our refreshments, we went into the theater and found a cozy little row of seats near the front. S had a little trouble sitting in the seat without it folding in on her, but she quickly got the hang of it and proceeded to set up her furry friends next to her and got started on the cotton candy.
She also got to try popcorn for the first time and seemed to enjoy it. We saw a cute little preview for “Nessie” and then Pooh came on. It was a cute story (although I don’t remember Eyore being such a debbie downer…geesh!) and it was just the right amount of time for S’s attention span. She got a little antsy right at the end. Nice to get everyone out of the house for a bit and let S experience the fun of a movie at the theater.
